“We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and mystery.”

H. G. Wells (1866 - 1946)

“Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.”

Henry Miller (1891 - 1980)

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

Anne Frank, Diary of a Young Girl, 1952

“Seize the moment of excited curiosity on any subject to solve your doubts; for if you let it pass, the desire may never return, and you may remain in ignorance.”

William Wirt

Beginning in January join the Global Healing Circle

The Global Healing Circle was created with my friend Suzy Baldwin to explore who we are, and who we could be in a safe and healing environment. We will encourage you to participate more in the process of creating your life by releasing blocks, setting new goals and reaching for new heights. We believe that your potential as an individual, and our potential as a global community, is unlimited.

Those who choose to join our circle will be part of a process that is ever-changing and ever-evolving to meet the needs of the group.  Individually, we will explore, honor, and learn from our differences.  United, we will connect, inspire, and reach for something greater than that which we currently know.

Come, try us out.  Do as much or as little as you like.  Share, only, if and when you’re ready.  If it feels like home, stay awhile.  If it does not, we thank you for your time and consideration, and send you blessings as you travel onward.  Whoever, wherever you are, we honor you as part of the whole.

We will meet the third or fourth Sunday of each month at 4:00PM at MindBodyZone. This meeting is free. The first meeting is January 27.

TIM'S TIP:

Steps to Live in the Moment

http://images.oprah.com/images/spacer.giflive in the momentDon't think of what you have to do tomorrow or 20 years       from now. Think of what you need to do today to take care of yourself. Start living healthier—right now! It's easy. Become aware of your needs, start moving, and take care of yourself both spiritually and physically.

Dr. Tracy Gaudet is one of the premier women's physicians in the country.  She joined The Oprah Winfrey Show as part of the Lifestyle Makeover team. She is the Director at the Duke Center on Integrative Medicine. Dr. Gaudet focuses on showing women how busy, stressful lives can cause illness, and how to get healthy and stay healthy by tapping into your body's inner wisdom.

Follow Dr. Tracy Gaudet's five steps to living in the moment:

Step One: Take a Body Step

Practice checking in with your body every day. Ask yourself, "How am I feeling today?" Create quiet time for yourself—you can hear what your body is trying to whisper to you. Dr. Gaudet suggests that we do what she calls a "full body scan." Get still and close your eyes. Visualize and feel your body from head to toe. Notice any discomfort, aches, pains, and take note.

Step Two: Take a Mind Step

Stop and take a breath—practice being in the moment. Sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing. We are human beings, not human "doings."

Step Three: Take a Movement Step

Find a form of exercise to do mindfully. Remember a time when you enjoyed movement—dancing, walking, swimming—and start to incorporate it into your everyday life. Remember, don't focus on solving your problems while exercising; focus on the activity.

Step Four: Take a Nutrition Step

Pay attention to what you eat and why. Are you eating because you're hungry, bored, to fill a need, for comfort?

Step Five: Take a Spirit Step

Do something that makes you feel connected to the greater universe. This could be something religious like praying, being with friends or spending time in nature. Another way to take your spirit step is to remember where you turn in times of crisis, and start to use this in your everyday life.

The important thing to remember is that these steps can be simple to implement into your life. For example, get a support group together and:

Step 1: Check in with your bodies—do you feel any aches and pains?

Step 2: Do a breathing exercise.

Step 3: Take a walk.

Step 4: Drink some green tea.

Step 5: Read your favorite poems or listen to some music.
